Drive Reflects Bank's Commitment to Supporting Education and Improving Career Opportunities for UAE Nationals
Dubai: 22 November, 2009 - Noor Islamic Bank today announced the recruitment of a second intake of 20 sponsored students and 10 part-timers as part of its ongoing drive towards supporting Emiratisation.
The recruits, comprising UAE national undergraduates from Zayed University and the Higher Colleges of Technology, will be closely supported by the Noor Islamic Bank Learning and Development specialists and given the opportunity to work alongside departmental teams to experience, first hand, the dynamics of a world-class financial institution.
Noor Islamic Bank's Emiratisation strategy seeks to offer programmes that promote long-term career opportunities and development for deserving UAE nationals. Currently, the bank spearheads three programmes including the 'Scholarship Programme,' which offers financial sponsorship and internship opportunities to outstanding students; the 'Saturday Work Programme' that requires students to work only on Saturdays at various branches as Lounge Manager Trainees; and the 'Contact Center Part Time Work Programme' where interns work as customer service agents in the call centre on a part-time daily basis.
The new recruits are mandated to undergo a comprehensive training programme that is customized for their roles and offers a combination of induction, product knowledge, system training, customer service and other soft skills. Upon graduation from their respective educational institutions and subject to their performance, these recruits will be offered suitable full-time career placements in Noor Islamic Bank.
Galal Kulaib, CEO, Noor Islamic Bank, said: "Through our unique programmes and initiatives, we stand by our pledge to promote academic excellence of the UAE national students, while helping them chart their career paths. We are committed to developing future leaders who will take forward the banking and financial sector and significantly contribute to the national economy.
"We are delighted to welcome the second batch of UAE national students who we hope will be inspired by the performance of the preceding intake, most of whom were absorbed as permanent employees into the Noor Islamic Bank upon the successful completion of their internship period."
In 2008, Noor Islamic Bank received 20 Emirati students for training across various departments.
Since inception, Noor Islamic Bank has successfully earned a solid reputation for performance, premium service and customer care. As one of its core priorities, it has augmented its electronic banking network to cover more than 84 ATMs and 18 locations across the UAE.
In addition, the bank also provides round-the-clock accessibility and convenience to its clients through a 24-7 branch, Internet and phone banking, SMS services, as well as electronic cash and cheque deposit facilities.
