Arab World first for Mercedes Car Group
Dubai - In an Arab World first, Mercedes-Benz has tied up with Lebanese singing sensation Ragheb Alama to feature the new Mercedes-Benz CLS mould breaking four-door coupe in the video clip for the star's latest single 'Nassini El Dunya' - 'Let me forget the World'.
"Ragheb has the kind of fan base that perfectly represents our CLS target audience," said Johannes Fritz, Sales and Marketing Director, Mercedes Car Group, Dubai. "This song also ties in beautifully with our regional CLS marketing campaign - the technology of seduction."
The video clip was shot on 35mm film in Milan during fashion week in September. It mixes cutting edge haute couture with automotive designer elegance and passion to highlight the beauty of the new CLS which is a unique synthesis of a coup and a saloon.
The over four-minute long love song is the first release from Alama's latest album his first for over two years. With full orchestral treatment and Alami's 'liquid' voice, the song is sure to be a big hit with his fans across the Arab world as it was when it as given it's world premiere at the Middle East introduction of the CLS in Beirut on October 11.
"The song is a symbol of love, like the CLS is a symbol of passion," said long-time Mercedes-Benz customer Alama. "I have been approached numerous times by other car companies but wanted to tie-up with the world's best known automotive brand."
The new CLS-Class is the world's first vehicle to combine the elegance and dynamism of a coup with the comfort and practicality of a saloon and has a great deal more added value than other coups.
Initially available in two model variants, the CLS 350 and CLS 500, it will be joined next year by the CLS 55 AMG, which is powered by a V8 supercharged engine generating 476 hp and can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds.
