Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Middlesex University Dubai awarded new and current progressing students with over AED 25 million in Scholarships and Grants for academic year 2018-2019. The new students who joined in September achieving outstanding academic success, who received an Academic Excellence Scholarship of AED 75,000 and above and were invited to attend the Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Merit List Awards Ceremony. The University’s current students were also recognised and awarded for their academic achievements progressing from year 1 -2 and year 2-3.

Acknowledging the diverse educational landscape of the region, these academic scholarships and grants are awarded to those students who have achieved outstanding results across a range of international curriculums, including A-Levels and CBSE, and those who demonstrate academic excellence when progressing from year to year.

The University held the Annual Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Merit List Awards Ceremony on Thursday 1 November 2018 at the University’s Oasis Theatre. At the event, students were officially recognised and awarded for their academic excellence in the presence of University faculty, staff, family and friends. Following the merit awards, Middlesex University Dubai’s 13th Annual Graduation Ceremony will be held at Jumeirah Beach Hotel on Saturday 17 November 2018, where over 800 graduates will walk the stage receiving their award.

Speaking at the Annual Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Merit List Awards, Dr Cedwyn Fernandes, Director and Pro Vice-Chancellor of Middlesex University Dubai, said; “Ours is a truly diverse university with over 3,200 students representing more than 100 nationalities. As our institution grows and achievements increase, it is only fair to reward students with scholarships to support them to achieve their academic goals. We, as an institution place great importance on student excellence and development, helping them take the right steps towards a successful career and future.”

“We believe in fostering the region’s academic talent, and our Academic Excellence Scholarships is just one way that the University acknowledges and attracts outstanding students to our campus in Knowledge Park” he further added.
