06 February 2007, Dubai - Microsoft Corp. and leading Microsoft Dynamics Partner, Columbus IT recently announced the release of Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 in the Middle East. At the major event held at the Fairmont Hotel in Dubai, Columbus IT demonstrated the distinguishing flexibility and adaptability of the global Microsoft business-management solution. The launch event also included an interesting session by renowned process management expert, Brian Willcox, on building efficiencies through driving the right processes within manufacturing and supply chain.
The session highlighted the business and technical benefits available through the deployment of AX 4.0. ERP Users and professionals also keenly noticed vast improvements in the use of web services and other enhancements towards delivering a complete ERP package to automate and streamline processes across a company's different departments, including financials, customer relationship, business services, human resources, manufacturing and the supply chain.
The event was well attended by a wide mixture of visitors ranging from entrepreneurs and leading industry professionals to application specialists and IT experts. Despite the large attendance, guests utilized the opportunity to discuss and debate several issues and queries with senior officials from Microsoft and Columbus IT.
Along with a process-driven product demonstration, the event also conveyed the benefits of ERP through the wide knowledge and experience of Brian Wilcox, who has over 20 years of experience in materials management and ERP project management. The distinguished ERP professional is also the author of the established study series for the internationally recognized CPIM examinations.
The session covered several key challenges within manufacturing and supply chain, covering important concepts such as supplier relationship management (SRM), the bullwhip effect and Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model. Further, Mr. Wilcox also detailed the significance of maintaining customers and the growing role of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) in organizational success.
"Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 is a proof that Microsoft is delivering on its vision around the next generation of business applications. Dynamics AX 4.0 includes role-based user experience, SharePoint portals, contextual business intelligence, and easy integration and extensibility through Web services.
