Micro Automation expands operations with new manufacturing facility for power protection products
Dubai, UAE - Aiming to sustain the growing demand for power protection products, Micro Automation Industries, a Dubai-based manufacturer and premium member of the Dubai SME 100, opened a new manufacturing facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) for their wide range of cost effective, microprocessor embedded power protection products.
Celebrating its 10th year in JAFZA, Micro Automation's new manufacturing facility, extending to 1100 square metres, serves as a hub for engineering, prototyping and developing its products. The company has considerably grown since it first started in 2001 with a 52 per cent revenue growth year-on-year (YOY) in 2011 and an average of 56.8 per cent growth every year since 2007.
The company's products and solutions are classified into four categories namely Powermatic, Genmatic, Voicematic and Datamatic solutions. Its range of products has grown to over 85 different models conforming to various country specifications and has recently developed an Intelligent Socket Protection Solution, new concept of multiple power protection of electronic and electrical appliances.
"We believe that our dedication to always deliver outstanding and innovative solutions allowed us to endure and grow in the past ten years, guaranteeing our continuous international expansion and success," said Hazim Al-Hajjaj, Managing Director of Micro Automation Industries. "Our unique knowledge in the field of Power Protection will undoubtedly secure our leadership in the global market in the future when Power Management products will become extremely dominant.
"Our new manufacturing facility in JAFZA serves as a constant effort to be at the forefront in the development and production of power protection technology. We will continue to provide top quality products and services and ensure that our flagship product 'Powermatic' continues to be recognised as a leading power protection solution locally and internationally," he added.
Over the years, Micro Automation was geared toward exporting its products and technical know-how with its semi-finished and finished products being exported in early 2003 and 2005 respectively. Currently, 67.8 per cent of Micro Automation's total products account for worldwide, exports excluding GCC countries. Meanwhile, 13 per cent go to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar with the remaining 19.8 per cent being distributed within the UAE.
Micro Automation's range of products is exported to more than 20 countries in the Middle East, Africa and in Europe and Asia. To extensively market Powermatic products to European countries including the United Kingdom, Micro Automation has expanded its presence and established a manufacturing unit in Belgium in 2009.
Aside from manufacturing Powermatic products, the company is also developing the smart control system and power device aiming to reduce electricity demand during peak hours. This innovation under development is targeting the reduction of electricity demand during peak hours.
The new range of smart control solutions for the use of delivered electrical power will allow consumers to manage their appliances in a comfortable manner when certain limitations of supply imposed by utility providers. The smart control will give consumers the possibility to cope with eventual scheduling of electrical power.

About Powermatic:
Powermatic is the flagship product of Micro Automation Industries and the brand name for its line of power protection products and a new concept of multiple power protection for various equipment at home and offices. Powermatic is powered by a built-in microprocessor, designed and developed by Micro Automation, which provides comprehensive monitoring of electrical supply and connecting equipment only when the supply is within safe levels. It provides thorough protection to a wide range of electronic appliances from different types of power disturbances. It carries out comprehensive monitoring of the electric supply and prevents deviated power quality from reaching electrical equipment. In addition, the Powermatic only connects the equipment when the supply is within safe levels. Unlike other solutions available in the market such as surge protectors, which provide one type of protection, the Powermatic offers seven types of protection. These protections are for over voltage, under voltage, under frequency, over frequency, interruption, loose connection, and power surges. Using the Powermatic reduces power consumption, eliminates fire accidents, provides external protection, extends equipment life, reduces maintenance costs, maintains higher efficiency, and ensures quality power.
Powermatic products are recognised in the UAE market and abroad as top quality product for its performance, packaging, and low RMA. All Powermatic products follow a strict quality management system based on ISO 9001-2008 standards and the utmost care Micro Automation provides to exceed customer expectations.
