Dubai, UAE: As part of a series of visits by prominent global companies to Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, received a high-level delegation from Electricite de France (EDF), headed by Jean-Bernard Levy, Chairman and CEO of EDF Group.
During the meeting, Al Tayer welcomed the visiting delegation and stressed on the importance of enhancing cooperation with French institutions and companies through DEWA’s initiatives, programmes, projects, and investment opportunities.
Al Tayer highlighted DEWA’s projects and initiatives, launched to realise the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to achieve the objectives of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 through securing DEWA’s energy supply by diversifying the energy mix to provide 75% of Dubai’s total power output from clean energy by 2050. DEWA has launched several projects to achieve this objective, including the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which will have a production capacity of 5,000 megawatts by 2030.
Levy expressed interest in participating in DEWA’s projects, promoting cooperation, and exchanging best practices and experiences in the fields of clean energy, renewable energy, and research, and development.
