Majid Al Futtaim Group capitalises on its Emiratisation drive

'UAE Career Day' seeks to attract young local talent looking to become Emirati leaders of tomorrow

Dubai, 13 December 2010 - Majid Al Futtaim Group, one of the most prominent developers of large consumer focused enterprises, is set to organise its 'UAE Career Day' next Sunday, December 19, at City Centre Hotel and Residence, located in Deira. The event, which reflects the Group's commitment to Emiratisation and the future of UAE nationals, aims to attract young local talent, educate them about the different businesses operating within the Group, and offer them an opportunity to become part of the Group's ongoing success.

Commenting on the UAE Career Day initiative, Iyad Malas, Group Chief Executive Officer of Majid Al Futtaim Group‎ said: "We look forward to meeting and interacting with UAE's young talent, whom we see as the drivers of tomorrow's success. During the 'UAE Career Day', Emirati graduates, senior university students and representatives will be welcomed by leadership teams from each business under Majid Al Futtaim Group, along with the human resources team and local talent currently working within the Group. The event aims to contribute to Majid Al Futtaim Group's Emiratisation objectives as it seeks to source young UAE talent and put them through a customized management trainee programme.

The UAE management trainee programme, offered by the various businesses within the Majid Al Futtaim Group, offers joiners a rich training and development programme including orientation and rotation programmes, functional placements, project assignments and on-the-job training. The aim is for UAE nationals to become fully engaged with the different businesses and operations within the Group, develop specific skills and cultivate leadership competencies.
