Independent hotel receives hotel classification

Abu Dhabi, 19 December, 2011: Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) awarded the recently re-launched Mafraq Hotel a four-star classification in the nation's capital yesterday.  The hotel, located in the heart of the rapidly growing Abu Dhabi area of Mafraq, opened its doors in November after a two-year re-build project that has transformed the property.

ADTA award classifications depend on a set of predetermined requirements and criteria.  The four star rating reflects the hotels spacious public areas and bedrooms, superior comfort and quality accommodation, skilled staff, high quality standards of service and products.

General Manager, Ghassan Fares, was delighted with the news commenting "We are very proud to receive our four star classification.  The hotel has undergone a major transformation growing from a 121-room property to a 250-room property with five new restaurants and outlets.  The Mafraq Hotel experience is one of modern luxury with an accessible ambience."

The hotel originally opened in 1996 and was suitably named Mafraq Hotel due to its strategic location; Mafraq is the Arabic word for 'intersection' or 'crossroads'.  The new hotel is now truly a statement of minimalist indulgence, and a crossroads of traditional values and modern comforts.
