Abu Dhabi: Lime, the innovative, urban mobility provider, has announced a new feature in the UAE to make group riding much easier and even more fun! The new Group Ride feature allows Lime riders in Abu Dhabi to unlock up to 5 scooters at a time using one account, easily making scooter riding a group activity without tandem riding.
Lime is the first major e-scooter operator to allow riders to unlock multiple vehicles from a single host account and users can unlock up to an additional 5 scooters including their own, after starting their ride.
Lime riders in Abu Dhabi will be able to access Group Ride in-app directly from their iOS and Android devices. Of course, all participants must still agree to abide by Lime’s Rules and Regulations before riding, including:
- Wearing a helmet while riding
- One Lime per Rider (no passengers!)
- Abide by all traffic laws and ride responsibly (use designated riding areas)
- Respect pedestrians right-of-way (park appropriately, yield to pedestrians)
- Be aware of road threats (be aware of potholes, anticipate car doors, and avoid slippery surfaces)
- Test ride before you glide (it is recommended that first time users take a practice run to familiarize themselves with the scooter before starting)
“Now with our new Group Ride feature, many of our Lime riders can easily and safely share the joys and benefits of sustainable, accessible micro-mobility with their friends and family members. “We believe this feature will simplify the experience for prospective riders looking to try our scooters,” said Mohamad Nsouli, General Manager of Lime in the UAE.
To access the feature, riders can simply tap the Group Ride button directly on the Lime map screen and then follow the step-by-step prompts. Guest rides can be started and/or ended at any time from the host account.
The Group Ride expansion comes amid a summer of exciting tech-related developments at Lime, including extended partnerships with Google Maps and Uber and the introduction of a global scooter reserve feature.
