A class from the faculty of Engineering, King Abdulaziz University headed by Dr. Omar Ali Al Rabghi, head of thermal engineering and desalination department; has recently visited and attended LG Air Condition Academy in Jeddah.  The group visited the Academy's different sections and has been briefed about the Academy's activities.  An in depth lecture was also arranged for the visiting students where different topics on central air conditioner industry and its applications has been discussed.

Through the discussion, the students revealed a true and serious intention to know more about the HVAC industry and about its actual market applications. The team was very much delighted with what they have seen of technical furnishings and workshops as well as the modern and advanced training methods that link theoretical education with empirical applications.

In admiration of what he has seen; Dr. Al Rabghi stated that aside of what we have heard about LG Academy, yet the actual fact is far exceeding our hearing.  Through our tour within the Academy we have seen the comprehensive technical furnishings for the theoretical training with the latest programs and computers designated for air conditioning, that cover training on the different stages of air conditioning industry including engineering planning, instrumentation, equipment and furnishings testing, ending up by the  best practice for installation.  All above is linked integrally with the practical training which allows the trainee a great opportunity to practice his theoretical knowledge practically and this is considered to be one of the best educational methods.

Within the last 3 months, the Academy has organized 3 training courses on air conditioning operations, attended by a large group of engineers, technicians and operators of maintenance departments within many government agencies and ministries. These training courses were provided to some of the technical employees of the Ministry of Interior of Riyadh, Air Defence Forces at Jeddah, and the Border Patrol of Najran. In addition, the Academy offered many courses as well to many private companies. Since the advent of this year around 20 training courses had been organized in Jeddah only.  The activities of the Academy have covered many places like Tabuk, Al Madina Al Munawara, Yanbu, Khamis Mushayt, Najran as well as Riyadh and Central Province in general.

It is worth mentioning that the Academy in Jeddah had been established 2005, on an area of 430 M encompassing the administration, teaching class, operating AC equipments, amenities, and as well as the technical workshops designated for practical training.  The teaching staff comprises engineers on air conditioning and cooling.  Training within the Academy is carried out through theoretical lectures that gives the trainee full knowledge about the different methods of air conditioning, its equipment and the materials used. This is followed by practical training on air conditioning principles, methods and technology besides allowing the trainee to get acquainted with used materials.

In collaboration with its sole agent for air conditioning, H. G. Ibrahim Shaker Co. Ltd; LG also conducts training courses for the technicians of their distributors throughout the kingdom which allows them the opportunity to execute all operations pertaining to air conditioning.
