Kuwait: As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting education-based initiatives that aim at elevating the level of knowledge across the nation, Kuwait International Bank (KIB) sponsored the 5th annual Kuwait International Law School (KILAW) conference, entitled “Contemporary Challenges to Legal Guarantees in a Changing World”, which took place on KILAW premises. The conference was held under the auspices of Dr. Fahad Al-Afasi, Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, and was attended by the Ministry of Justice Undersecretary Abdullatif Al-Saree, as well as a large group of regional and international researchers and legal experts.
The two-day conference featured a large number of topics, including: protection of rights and freedom, international peace and security, evolution of cyber threats and cybercrime, protection of cultural identity and privacy, challenges facing control of financial markets and financial institutions, as well as global changes affecting communities.
Speaking about this sponsorship, Manager of the Corporate Communications Unit at KIB, Nawaf Najia, said: “We believe that an educated population is essential to a nation’s continued prosperity. For this reason, we continuously provide our full support to education-based events and initiatives. On one hand, we add to our impressive record of social activities, and on the other, we provide students with the perfect knowledge transfer opportunity by connecting them with legal experts and professionals to enrich their knowledge of international law and key regional issues.”
Najia added that KIB’s sponsorship of this conference came as part of its commitment towards strengthening its strategic partnership with KILAW through its ongoing support and sponsorship of its activities and events. The Bank is a proud sponsor of an institution that provides outstanding education, which works actively to enrich students’ knowledge about local and international laws taught by highly-qualified academics in the field.
As part of its encompassing social responsibility program, KIB has always sought to participate in various activities and initiatives. Accordingly, the Bank is one of the leading national institutions that is actively involved in social issues and causes across a number of areas, establishing itself as a true partner in every aspect of life in the community.
