Jawwal, the first Palestinian Provider for mobile communication services has recently launched the Collect Call service using Globitel's state-of-the-art platform, which allows the costs of a mobile call to be taken over by the called party pending his consent. The service is easily accessed and works for both prepaid and postpaid subscriptions and on any handset.
Collect Call, part of Globitel's VAS portfolio, allows the subscriber to initiate the service by entering a prefix followed by the mobile number of the subscriber he wants to speak to. The recipient receives a call announcement asking to agree or decline the charges for the call. In case of acceptance, the call is established automatically between the two parties and the recipient is charged.
Globitel's Collect Call helps operators increase their network usage and stimulate revenue generating calls that would not have been otherwise made from subscribers with zero or low credits. And it also helps operators remain competitive by offering leading innovative services to subscribers, which help improve their communications experience and lifestyles.
"We are delighted to introduce the Collect Call service to our customers and provide them with an easy and seamless way to communicate with their families and friends, even when they do not have enough credits to place a call. We have always found in Globitel a reliable partner, that responds very well and in a cost-effective manner to our technical requirements", says Husam Maqboul, Jawwal's Senior Switching Engineer.
"This co-operation with Jawwal adds another important achievement and strengthens Globitel's position in the Middle East region, says Sharif Nabulsi, Globitel's CEO. "In all markets where Collect Call has been introduced, the usage has increased much faster than anticipated, generating added revenues for the operator. This collaboration will pave the way for a long term success and helps Jawwal to hit new revenue streams enhancing the service rendered to its customers", he added.
