Under the patronage of the Ministry of Water and Electricity in Saudi Arabia

International Quality and Productivity Centre (IQPC) is pleased to announce the launch of the first annual conference and exhibition on heating, ventilation and air conditioning; Saudi HVAC Confex 2013, which will take place in Riyadh between 11-13 February, 2013.

Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Water and Electricity and spearheaded by His Excellency Dr. Saleh Al Awaji, Deputy Minister of Water and Electricity, the Saudi HVAC Confex is a joint conference and exhibition to develop and implement a feasible and sustainable HVAC efficiency strategy for the Kingdom, while reducing the impact of energy usage.

In a ceremony recently held at the Ministry, H.E. Dr. Saleh Al Awaji, Deputy Minister of Water and Electricity met with Regional Managing Director, Symon Rubens, IQPC Middle East to sign the partnership agreement for the pivotal event. Also present at the signing ceremony was Dr. Nayef Al Abbadi, Director General of the Saudi Energy Efficiency Centre, who will be actively supporting the event through participation in the event's technical and supervisory committees.

The 30 keynote speakers invited to the event include HE Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Hussain, Minister of Water and Electricity K.S.A., and HE Dr. Saleh Alawaji, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Water and Electricity K.S.A.

"The Saudi HVAC Confex will fill a niche in the ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry, and we are looking forward to creating a platform where key decision-makers and industry players meet to discuss best practices and ultimately find resolutions to key challenges in the Kingdom's energy sector," said Mahmoud Ghubn, Business Development and Operations Director at IQPC, organisers of the Saudi HVAC Confex.

Investing in and deploying the most sustainable and energy efficient technologies for the country's infrastructure will enable Saudi Arabia to reach its goals of conserving energy in the long term, and we are confident that The Saudi HVAC Confex is a key stride toward fulfilling the Kingdom's long term goals," concluded Ghubn.

Saudi Arabia faces a steep and continual rise in the demand for domestic energy, with massive future implications for both the economy and environment. If the demand continues to escalate at the current rate, it could jeopardise the Kingdom's ability to stabilise world oil markets. In response to this potential energy crisis, sweeping policies and programmes are being initiated by the Ministry of Water and Electricity, Saudi Arabia, to establish sustainable energy legislation, develop and utilise innovative and efficient new technologies, and to increase public awareness.

The Saudi HVAC Confex event aims to promote the requirement for significant energy saving to the highest level government decision-makers by bringing together over 500 regional and international air conditioning experts to discuss the latest case studies and benchmark global best practices. At the same time, an accompanying exhibition will showcase the latest concepts and technologies to optimise energy efficiency in the HVAC industry
