Doha: Twenty eight Resident doctors from Internal Medicine department at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) have successfully cleared their Arab Board Examination. They have now become Specialists doctors in their field.
"Today we are celebrating the successful graduation of all the Residents, who have earned a degree of Specialist in Internal Medicine of Arab Board Medical Specialty for the year 2011, after completion of four years of Residency training at HMC," said Dr. Fahad Alkindi, Specialist in Internal Medicine, who is one of the successful graduates.
This year 87% of the Internal Medicine Residents have successfully cleared the Arab Board exams. The Residents have dedicated this achievement to the Quality leadership and guidance of Dr. Abdullatif AlKhal, Chairman of Medical Education Department, Dr. Muna Al Musalmani, Assistant Chairman, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed, and Program Director for Internal Medicine and Dr.Dabia Al Muhanadi, Assistant Program Director and to the great teaching faculty in Medical Education Department.
"Now as we have earned this degree, which allows us to work independently, our responsibility towards our patients has increased, making us more committed and motivated to maintain the high standard of our training," Dr. Fahad said.
To mark their success the Internal Medicine Residents hosted a get together for all the graduates and many of the faculty members at Medical City Club House. The program was organized by all Resident graduates from Internal Medicine department at HMC.
