INDEX Holding and Korea Convention and Exhibition Centre COEX have signed a Memorandum of Understanding MOU at INDEX Holding offices in Dubai Healthcare City on Saturday 4th of November 2006.
Mr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, President of INDEX Holding and Mr. Chung Chaikwan, President of COEX shook hands and signed the agreement in the presence of media representatives and the Board of Directors of INDEX Holding and representatives from COEX.
COEX, looking ahead to become Asia's No. 1 Convention and Exhibition Centre making Seoul Asia's No. 1 convention city by 2010, and INDEX Holding seeking to be one of the active partners in the growth of the nation, driven by the vision of H.H. Sheikh Khalifah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of United Arab Emirates and H.H. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, have both joined their common vision about how quality conferences and exhibitions should be organized and managed.
Based upon this intention, they have designed a plan to reach successful outcome in the future and help each parties to promote and market their exhibitions and meetings internationally, and develop events awareness among the target audience of each event.
Started its main business since 1986, as one of the main factors for promoting the vision of international trade, COEX now holds more than 200 trade shows and 2,300 conferences, including special events, every year. It organizes about 60 professional tradeshows every year, and manages own exhibition venue, whole convention centre and also office buildings such as Trade Tower, ASEM Tower and COEX Mall, as it sells exhibition spaces and offers catering services.
The advanced facilities and excellent operating functions make COEX to be able to accommodate and enhance any size of international exhibition, tradeshow, banquet, and fashion show.
Along with the wise vision of the late rulers of the UAE, INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation Est. Member of INDEX Holding was established in 1991, during 15 years, it was able to put together 384 events that were always honoured by the support of the Dubai Government.
Today INDEX is leading the industry of organising international congresses, conferences, seminars, workshops, events and exhibitions and is organising more than 24 events yearly in the United Arab Emirates and different countries such as Germany, UK, Italy and Japan.
With the fast evolution of the UAE, and the competitiveness of the international market, INDEX and COEX have launched their joint plan towards a bright path.
On this occasion, Mr Abdul Salam Al Madani, President of INDEX Holding extended his gratitude and appreciation to COEX President and affirmed that the partnership between INDEX Holding and COEX will form a vital economic relation between Korea and the United Arab Emirates saying 'I would like to register our deep appreciation for His Excellency Mr. Chung Chaikwan, President of COEX for his distinguished visit to our offices in Dubai to participate in the signatory of the Memorandum of Understanding between INDEX and COEX. He added the agreement between COEX and INDEX that shall be signed today is considered the first step in building a strong relationship between COEX and INDEX. This agreement shall shape the economic relationship between Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
Based upon our commitment to strengthen this relationship and based upon an in-depth analysis of the strategic importance of Korea in South East Asia, INDEX Holding has inaugurated its new Korea Branch Office on the 2nd of November 2006, in the most prestigious international commerce building in Korea'.
