MUSCAT - To incorporate a balanced and rather healthy lifestyle in the everyday lives of students and staff-members, the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) will launch a series of workshops and lectures entitled Work/Study -Life Balance this month. In cooperation with private and public health institutions in Muscat, GUtech has invited health experts to conduct various workshops which shall help to develop more balanced lifestyles.
"When we spend the majority of the day on work or study-related activities and feel as if we are neglecting the other important components of our lives, stress and unhappiness are a result. We will launch this series of lectures with a workshop for our female GUtech students, entitled Fit for the Studies - Fit for Life. The lecture will give an overview about how to keep a healthy and energizing diet, how to incorporate breathing exercises to release stress during a hectic day and many more tips," said Gunhild Pfaff, Sports Officer at GUtech who has organized the Work/Study-Life Balance workshops in cooperation with the Student Affairs Department of GUtech. More workshops are planned on Ergonomics at your Workplace and Planting Positivity at Work, Time Management, Concentration and Motivation and Leadership skills.
"Especially in a community-centered society we are living in, it is very challenging to make time for the family, friends, neighbors, spirituality, personal growth, self care, sports and other personal activities, in addition to the demands of the studies and work, a healthy work/study-life balance is a daily effort. We hope to encourage a lot of GUtech students and staff members to participate in our health lectures," said Sabriya Al Namaani, Student Counselor at GUtech.
