15 September 2009 - Manama, Bahrain. In line with its commitment to improving banking security, Bahrain-based Futurebank has conducted yet another Security Awareness programme for its employees. Hosted at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, the training session was conducted by Paladion, India-based security consulting and implementation firm, specialising in enterprise security, firewalls, vpns, smart cards, and ids.
Futurebank employees were educated on secure data transmission techniques, non-electronic and electronic data storage, and methods to safely dispose of information - amongst other topics - by two specialists especially flown in for this training.
Earlier this year Futurebank received the prestigious ISO/IEC 27001:2005 Information Management System Standard certification, which covers Management of Information security, providing Infrastructure Setup and Support, Application Support and Maintenance, Backup, Helpdesk, Network Management and System Administration.
"Financial organizations and individual customers are becoming increasingly concerned about the need to improve data security controls and processes," said Dr. Valiollah Seif, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Futurebank, "and with data theft on the rise, the need to protect our valued customers is of paramount importance.
"By educating everyone within Futurebank on this critical topic, we are implementing processes to protect our customers' data. Moving forward after the implementation of ISO/IEC 27001:2005 Information Management System Standard, this training course has helped to refresh and update our staff on the latest advances in the field," he concluded.
