• The inaugural event – free and open to the public – offers a range of activities, while prospective students will learn more about the University

Abu Dhabi, UAE:  On Saturday, March 18, NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) will hold its first ever Open Campus Day from midday. The event is free and open to the public.

NYUAD’s vibrant Saadiyat Island campus will come alive with music, food stalls, activities, and performances. Throughout the day, visitors can tour learning spaces and recreational facilities, sit in on a talk with NYUAD’s world-renowned faculty, and engage with interactive research stations on topics ranging from neuroscience and audio production to human-centered design and campus life. 

Highlights include:

  • Guided tours of The Art Gallery and the new exhibition the only constant, and a Youth Guide workshop where children can create their own guide to the exhibition as a comic book    
  • A Khaleeji percussion workshop with Dr. Ghazi Faisal Al-Mulaifi and an open jazz rehearsal      at The Arts Center    
  • The premiere of a new documentary about the Kuwaiti/UAE music group Boom.Diwan focusing on their transnational collaboration with South African pianist Nduduzo Makhathini      
  • Sports and fitness activities, including basketball, football, and a range of physical performance measuring tools      

Families can enjoy a fun-filled day of activities for all ages. Join a percussion workshop, visit the molecular world in virtual reality, participate in hands-on experiments, and learn about what we teach including the inner workings of plastics, how to recycle them, and much more     .
