Sharjah, United Arab Emirates - GIS Workshops & Exhibition for ESRI Users (GISWORX 2010) will be held from March 15-17, 2010 at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel in Dubai. GISWORX is the only known geographic information systems (GIS) event in the region that provides a unique in-depth learning environment on different aspects of GIS and related IT to both beginners as well as advanced users through several technical workshops on focused topics.
GISWORX 2009 introduced a track of technical workshops equipped with computers, which was met with resounding approval from the more than 500 delegates. Next year's event will answer this demand with 20% more computers-equipped technical workshops to deliver a richer and more fulfilling learning environment.
GISWORX has managed to reach 20% growth each year. The event, which is marking its fifth anniversary in 2010, will feature Developer Track to be facilitated by ESRI, GIS Data Track, ESRI Technology Track equipped with laptops computers for hands-on, and Industry/Partner track for vertical and specialized solutions including Utilities, Telecom, Oil & Gas, Public Safety & Security, Transportation, etc.
Aside from the technical workshops, GISWORX 2010 will bring together exceptional personalities and prominent speakers in the field of GIS and related technologies from around the Middle East and the rest of the world for the Executive Session slated on March 15, 2010.
The winners of the annual Excellence in GIS Implementation (EGI) Awards, a traditional part of GISWORX, will be announced at the Gala Dinner to be held on March 16, 2010. The EGI Awards was instituted to promote innovation and experimentation in the area of GIS implementation and to honor successful GIS implementation programs.
The event also includes an exhibition and consultancy area, where delegates can visit different software and hardware vendors and consult with invited GIS/IT experts from GISTEC's and ESRI's network of business partners and consultants.
