Dubai: EEG successfully carried out its 6th Community Lecture of the year on the 29th of May 2012, entitled "Sustainable Energy". The event which is free and open to the public was conducted at the Dubai Custom's Premises.

The event was kick started with an opening speech by the Vice Chair of the EEG, Mr. Abdel Aziz Al Midfaa who addressed the crowd with an emphatic speech. He began by detailing the major events hosted by the EEG over the past month and the efforts that were put into making them possible, namely the 5th Community Lecture and the extensive outreach programs for both the corporate and the educational sectors. He also mentioned that this was the second community lecture for the month of May, which is said to be highly encouraging with regards to the future of the Community Lecture Series.

He also went on to brief the audience about the upcoming events of the EEG such as the Celebration of the World Environment Day on the 5th of June which will be celebrated with a Prize Giving Ceremony awarding the achievers of EEG's 8 recycling campaigns; paper, plastic, glass, aluminum cans, toners, mobiles, tetra packs and batteries as well the winners of one of the popular competitions hosted by the EEG; the Environmental Drawing Competition.

On the Prize Giving Ceremony, Mr. Abdel Aziz Midfaa stated "What better way to bring in this day than to spend it with those members of the society that have scaled countless measures to ensure that the EEG and it's various campaigns are truly a success".

Upcoming events to be hosted by EEG's sister organization, the Arabia CSR Network such as the CSR Training and Clinic were also brought to the fore.

Mr Abdel Aziz Midfaa then welcomed the speaker of the lecture, Mr. Abdulla Aljallaf the Director of The Neutral Group.

The topic of discussion for the lecture was "Sustainable Energy", which is a highly important issue in the wake of an increased need for an environmental conscience in today's day and age. The focus was put on businesses; turning sustainable energy into a business proposition. With his astute knowledge of the business world, Mr. Abdulla Al Jallaf addressed all doubts and confusions with regards to sustainable energy, demonstrating the ways in which to make this issue more appealing for the corporate world. He shared many business strategies that have in turn contributed to the corporate bottom line and have been successful in sharpening the competitive edge

As a part of his concluding remarks, Mr. Abdel Aziz Al Midfaa highlighted the need and importance of the corporate world to truly comprehend the issue of sustainable energy and work towards creating business strategies accordingly. He then thanked Mr. Abdulla Al Jallaf for his illuminating lecture and presented Mr. Abdulla with a crystal as a token of appreciation. He also thanked Dubai Customs for the venue, Abela & Co. for the catering and Crystal Gallery for the crystal.
