Edgo is pleased to announce that David W. Scott has joined the Edgo Group in the capacity of General Manager of GOS in Libya. David comes to Edgo with over 20 years of international experience in the oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) sector, both at technical and managerial levels.
David is joining GOS from Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd where he reported to the Director of Oil and Gas, advising senior management on technology and organisational development in the upstream O&G sector. He advised on key projects in the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia and has previous Libyan experience including the Master Field Development project for Repsol in Libya. From 2002 to 2006, David was GM of Almisehal Geotechnical and Consulting Company ($600 Million turnover) a specialist oilfield service company operating in Saudi Arabia and South Asia. His primary activity there was to provide E&P planning services to multinational companies. Prior to this position David worked for six years with PGS-SA where he was responsible for the onshore exploration programme. His role was to manage the technical activities during the production operation phases of multiple projects. He managed projects with up to 1,600 personnel on seismic exploration and drilling projects. He was also appointed to oversee flagship exploration crews and projects based in Saudi Arabia and India including the world's largest 3D project.
David is a graduate of York University and holds a 1st Class Honours BSc in Survey Sciences; he also holds an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and has recently been awarded his MBA from Edinburgh Business School.
GOS was established in Libya over 20 years ago and acquired by Edgo in 2001. It has two divisions, one providing integrated oilfield services specialising in drilling, drilling fluids and chemicals, solids control and waste management products, supply and repair of wellheads, valves and BOPs. While GOS's construction division provides EPC services, cathodic protection services, tank farm erection and maintenance.
