dwp was shortlisted for their work in this year's Commercial Interior Design Awards 2012, recognising the best projects from around the Middle East region
The Commercial Interior Design Awards (CIDA) shortlist for their 2012 awards included the design for the Sigma Paint stores, created by world-class architecture and interior design firm dwp. CIDA 2012 pays tribute to outstanding interior design projects, firms and designers, making their mark in the region. Among nominations from throughout the MENA region, dwp | design worldwide partnership was recognised in the Middle East Interior Design of the Year category: Retail, for the Sigma Paint stores, part of a roll-out project for the Middle East region.
"We, at dwp, are honoured to have been recognised once again for our design talent and our work, among these respected industry experts and among our industry peers," commented dwp group CEO, Brenton Mauriello.
Sigma Paint is one of the top 3 paint companies in the Middle East. dwp | design worldwide partnership was hired to develop a complete roll-out for two strategic shop types in Saudi Arabia and neighbouring countries: an inspirational paint selection shop for the homeowner and an inspirational corner 'shop-inside-a-shop' solution, to fit into professional paint shops in the Middle East. In both shops, dwp developed joinery, to make colour selection easier for customers that shop for themselves or families, who come to the stores for advice.
The shops are designed with a contemporary sensibility that is also comfortable and welcoming to all types of homeowners. Each shop uses various modular elements to suit 6 different shop configurations and sizes, common in the market. The first roll-out of both types was completed in April 2011, in Saudi Arabia.
Additional details on the awards can be found at CIDAwards.
