United Arab Emirates, Dubai, September 12, 2011: The Central Sterile Supply Unit (CSSD), Administration Affairs Department in collaboration with the Medical Education Department recently hosted the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) examination for its staff members.
Ali Al Marzouqi, Head of the Central Sterile Unit at the DHA highlighted the importance of this examination which is internationally recognised. He said, "The aim of training our staff to take this exam and receive this certification is to help advance continuous medical education to raise the quality of our employees and in turn provide high quality healthcare services to the population living and working in the Emirate of Dubai."
The CBSPD's Technician certifications are accredited by The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), which is widely known as the "Source for Credentialing Solutions". Certification provides internationally recognized competency-based certificates to the candidates.
Dr. Mohamed AbdulRazaq Nasaif, Head of the Professional Development Center, Department of Medical Education at the DHA said that the DHA encourages such programs which help raise the quality of healthcare provision.
Ali Almarzouqi said the regular examination module has several benefits such as it gives importance to vocational education to achieve internationally recognized certificates.
The module helps encourage high standards of safe and effective sterilization practises which in turn builds customer confidence.
