Dubai Customs stakeholder event rewarded 2007's best clients

Dubai Customs yesterday launched the new corporate identity at a ceremony organized to honor its key partners in the private and public sectors, entitled: "Synergy: A Dubai Customs Stakeholder Event."

The new identity includes a smart and stylish logo as an expression of Dubai Customs' ambition to become one of the leading customs departments in the world, in terms of services, technical & human capacities and ability to protect the borders and society.

Mr. Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Director General, reviewed Dubai Customs major achievements In front of Dubai Customs stakeholders and VIP guests, including Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. Mr. Butti affirmed that those great achievements started when Dubai Customs kicked off its Strategic Plan (2007-2011), inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Mr. Ahmed Butti Ahmed stressed that Dubai Customs has developed this strategy to improve customs operations, and to implement the latest global practices. " Now, only 14 months into the 60 month plan, Dubai Customs can claim to have introduced modernization components and techniques that were seen as not really possible even two years ago.."

Dubai Customs Director General also reviewed a number of other achievements such as the Client Accreditation Program, which aims to establish the principle of genuine partnership between Dubai Customs and the private sector on the basis of shared responsibility and cooperation, to contribute to the accomplishment of objectives aimed at encouraging investment and promoting economic growth in Dubai.

During the event, a short film summarizing the achievements of Dubai Customs was presented, along with some entertaining sections.

The evening witnessed Mr. Ahmed Butti rewarding Dubai Police team, headed by Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan, for their contribution to the success of the 4th Global Congress on Combating Counterfeiting and Piracy, hosted by Dubai Customs. Mr. Butti also rewarded the most active clients for their commitment during the year 2007, including: DANZAS, Damas, DHL, Al Tayer and Al Futtaim Motors among others.

At the end, 3 winners were announced through a special raffle draw.
