Eng. Abdullah Al Shaibani, Assistant Director General of Dubai Municipality for Technical Services Affairs on Tuesday opened a three-day media exhibition on Father of the Nation, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan at Al Safa Public Library.
The exhibition titled, "The Union and Zayed, an Unforgettable History," is being organized with the cooperation of the UAE Journalists Association.
Khalid Mohammed Badri, Director of the Public Relations and Organizations Department, senior officials of the Municipality and Sami Al Reyami, Vice Chairman of the UAE Journalists Association were present on the occasion.
Al Reyami said the exhibition aims at familiarizing the achievements that accompanied the life of the late President and his earnest efforts in setting up the Union as well as bringing in high quality of life to the UAE.
"We want to connect these achievements and Sheikh Zayed with the new generation and implant that in their memory as these achievements have a big prominent role in their lives," he said.
Al Reyami said the exhibition is being organized for the second consecutive year to coincide with the death anniversary of Sheikh Zayed.
The exhibition was organized for the first time last year by Dubai Ladies Club, Zayed University in Abu Dhabi and the UAE University. This year the exhibition will also be organized at Al Ain Municipality and UAE University after it concludes at Al Safa Library.
"The exhibition will display a number of books, pictures, periodicals and magazines, in addition to some local, GCC and Arabic newspapers that featured the life of Sheikh Zayed, the founder of the UAE," said Aisha Mohammed Al Khaja, Institutional Marketing and Exhibitions Officer at the Public Relations and Organizations Department in Dubai Municipality, who is also the general coordinator of the exhibition on Sheikh Zayed.
She said the exhibition will also portray the leading role of Sheikh Zayed in establishing the country and taking it to great heights of development at the GCC, Arab and world level.
