Department of Economic Development - Ajman reveals new organizational structure

Move complements emirate's strategic vision and plan

UAE - The Department of Economic Development - Ajman (DED-Ajman) has revealed its implementation of a new organizational structure, which has been developed based on the move to achieve the goals and objectives set forth in Ajman Vision 2021 to create a competitive and diversified green economy that is at pace with economic development. The move demonstrates DED-Ajman's keenness towards improving and enhancing government performance while also promoting investment activity and encouraging various economic sectors to contribute to the development process.

His Excellency (H.E.) Ali Eissa Al Nuaimi, Director General, DED-Ajman, said, “This new organizational structure is part of our continuing commitment to create a competitive and diversified economic environment--based on world class international standards. Moreover, the implementation of this new structure draws inspiration from the vision of His Highness (H.H.) Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman and Member of the Federal Supreme Council and the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and President of the Executive Board.”

H.E. added, “The new organizational structure reflects our continuous commitment to hire specialized and qualified human resources that can support our efforts to drive in more growth in the economic sector of the emirate and promote it locally, regionally and globally. This aims to attract more investments, enhance economic development within the framework of the strategy of Ajman Government and in line with our mission to build a prosperous economy and ensure the wellbeing of Ajman’s residents.”

Changes in the structure include the creation of three new offices--The Office of His Highness, the Department's President; The Director General's Office and the Office of Legal Affairs. In addition, the new organizational set-up has three new sectors, which are Economic Registration and Control, Planning and Development and Institutional Support.

The new structure also includes the following directorates;

- Project Management Section

· Trade Registration

- Economic Licenses Section

- Trade Permits and Customer Happiness Centre

- Transaction Review Section

· Directorate of Control and Customer Protection

- Inspection and Follow-Up Section

- Consumer Protection Section

- Commercial Fraud Section
