New Look tie-up offers glimpse of what's to come
Dubai, July 2, 2006: Deira City Centre (DCC), one of the flagships of MAF Shopping Malls, today announced a sweeping review of its retail brands portfolio. This will deliver wholesale changes to the Centre's retail mix, highlighted by a stronger focus on fashion.
The revamp will boost DCC's range of leading edge international brands, a process that began just days ago with the announcement of the Centre's groundbreaking tie-up with Landmark International for the regional debut of its New Look fashion brand. New Look is one of the UK's largest fashion retailers.
DCC said the store opening, scheduled for September later this year, marks a new phase in the evolution of the Centre, which has become an international retail icon. Murray Bell, Senior Vice President of Asset Management for MAF Shopping Malls, said: "We will continue to look for opportunities to give our customers that extra value that is our trademark and which is exclusive to the Centre
"Deira City Centre was one of the pioneers of the shopping mall phenomenon in the UAE and continues to set the pace. We are currently reviewing the Centre's retail mix but one of the decisions we have already taken is to focus on continually attracting the best fashion brands from around the globe.
"This partnership with Landmark International takes us a long way towards meeting our ambitions and our customers can expect to see further announcements of new brands in the near future."
Deira City Centre offers more than 340 international and local brands. It attracts in excess of 20 million visitors a year, and has long been one of Dubai's top attractions for visitors. "Our aim is to make high street fashion available at affordable prices," added Bell. "This will encourage our customers to keep coming back for more. With a large percentage of the country's population under the age of 34, the UAE is the ideal location for major fashion houses to be represented."
