Cyberlink, a division of the ATCO Group has been awarded the implementation of the first e-learning and e-schooling in Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education (the "MOE") public schools in Dammam.
Cyberlink was tasked to develop and deliver a total e-learning solution; including servers and storage equipment, websites and multimedia, content management software, and a comprehensive suite of CyberMag as a hosted multi-lingual, electronic publishing service.
The interactive whiteboard system e-learning technologies will have wide wire line and wireless connectivity, voice over Internet protocol ("VoIP") telecommunications, online video lectures and library archives, and video conferencing enabled by advanced digital media solutions. The digital publications retain the same content, graphics, and look-and-feel of the printed versions, including page turns. "As a digital solution, however, CyberMag enhances the capabilities of a publication by adding rich media features, such as text searches, text and graphic hyperlinks, audio/video links, and text-view zooms (in and out).
Lauding Cyberlink's performance, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Albabtain, the MOE's Educational Technology Manager in the Eastern Province, stated that "we were able to implement the critical components and most of the infrastructure within the first seven weeks. The headquarters' complete IT infrastructure was operational before the start of the new 2005 school year".
