Village to feature a wide variety of exciting activities
Manama, Bahrain - October 5, 2011: Netizen, the official communication and commercial of Bahrain 11, proudly announces that Gulf Air, Red Bull, Virgin Megastore, Sony Playstation, and Lavazza have signed on as sponsors of the Bahrain 11 Village, the dedicated fan zone and entertainment hub of the First GCC Games (Bahrain 11) is which will open its doors to the public at 6:00 pm tomorrow (Thursday, Oct 6th).
Mr. Khalid Al-Doseri, Chairman of Netizen, said in a comment, "We are immensely pleased with the outpour of corporate support here at the village. Their presence will undoubtedly be a valuable addition to the overall excitement and carnival-like atmosphere of the venue."
Stretching along 700 meters on the Al Fateh Corniche between Dolphin Resort up to Funland Centre, the Bahrain 11 Village will be abuzz with a whole range of free fan-friendly activities ranging from giant sports games, extreme sports stunt shows, fanzone sports theatre, Gallery of Sports Stars, virtual game zone, live DJ's and stage performances, along with lots of retail outlets selling everything from sportswear and gear to food.
The Village will be open until October 22 every day from 6pm to midnight on weekdays and from 2pm to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Bahrain 11, scheduled to take place from 11 - 22 of October, will feature over 1,500 athletes from all GCC member nations who will compete in 10 sporting disciplines. The games will be held in 9 venues across Bahrain, the featured sports are football, basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics (track and field), swimming, cycling, bowling, in addition to goalball and table tennis for women.

The first edition of the GCC Games (Bahrain 11) will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from October 11 to 22, and will be the largest ever showcase of GCC sporting talent.
More than 1500 athletes representing all GCC member nations will compete in 10 different sporting disciplines in 9 venues across the Kingdom which have been refurbished to match the vision and the size of the event
Bahrain 11 will usher in a new era of development and success for GCC sports. The GCC Games are planned to expand to encompass more sporting disciplines, paving the way for the birth of new generations of GCC sport stars able to compete in the international arena.
