• Xare’s ‘LoveSmall’ campaign promotes small, local businesses for free
  • Shoppers use credit/debit cards shared by someone else on Xare

Dubai: On the occasion of Ramadan, global fintech platform, Xare, has announced the “Love Small” campaign to promote small, local businesses on its platform. The campaign showcases small businesses on Xare across categories such as fashion, home décor, food, etc with the objective of driving sales for these online shops and helping them grow.

The holy month of Ramadan sees a surge in shopping in the region every year. Redseer Strategy Consultants expect retail sales in the MENA region to hit $66 billion this year, with online shopping leading the way. Large e-commerce players see up to 15 times higher volume of purchases during Ramadan as compared to the rest of the year. And large banks and card companies team up with these large players to drive this behavior by providing fantastic discounts and festive offers.

Xare introduced the XareClub earlier this year, which allowed people to create private groups with friends and shop using shared credit/debit cards to enjoy card discounts. Over 15,000 Clubs have already been created across 78 countries. While these card discounts are offered by large e-commerce brands, thousands of small, local businesses are left out of the loop.

This Ramadan, Xare’s LoveSmall campaign will turn the spotlight on small businesses in the UAE and the incredible entrepreneurs behind them. The platform will showcase over a hundred small shops at no cost to them and give discounts and cashback as an incentive to buyers who shop from them. Xare will provide marketing support to these small shops and also promote them through its social media channels.

Commenting on the campaign, Padmini Gupta, CEO & Co-Founder, Xare said, “An average UAE shopper can save up to AED30,000 this Ramadan if they were to avail all the discounts available out there right now. And a fair share of this comes from large e-commerce brands that team up with big banks to offer deep discounts. But what about the thousands of small shops that struggle to catch the shopper’s attention?

Xare’s mission this Ramadan is to change that – if banks will not give you a discount to shop at small stores, we will. These small shops in the UAE often have unique, well-curated collections of beautiful, sustainable, ethically sourced products. We are proud to showcase them on the Xare platform.
“LoveSmall is our way of giving back and helping these amazing small businesses that make a real difference in our local community. We want to give them a fair chance this Ramadan,” she added.
