Dubai: Habitas, the sustainable, experience-led hospitality brand with properties on three continents, has added to its ever growing list of accolades by winning the award for best Resort at the prestigious AHEAD (the Awards for Hospitality Experience and Design) Global 2022 Awards. As part of AHEAD Global, the regional winners from Asia, the Americas, MEA and Europe went head-to-head to establish a Global winner in each category. Organised by industry-leading publication Sleeper, AHEAD comprises four regional annual awards programmes concluding in a global finale.

Habitas AlUla leads with a focus on sustainability, community, and shared experience. Launched in November 2021, the property rests within an ancient oasis in the desert canyons of the Ashar Valley, surrounded by sandstone cliffs and palm groves. 

This latest win adds to Habitas' existing success of being awarded in three categories: Resort; Spa & Wellness and Sustainability at AHEAD MENA 2022, as well as seeing its Mexico property, Habitas Bacalar, win multiple Best New Hotel-led awards including being named in both Travel + Leisure's It List and Conde Nast Traveler's Hot List 2022. Habitas AlUla, was further named winner of Best Hospitality Project in Architectural Digest's Middle East Design Awards 2021.

The brand’s impressive growth includes the recent launch of four new homes in Agafay (Morocco), the Hudson Valley (USA), San Miguel de Allende (Mexico) and Dakhla (Morocco). These new properties add to the growing Habitas family, which includes properties in Tulum and Bacalar, Mexico, as well as a one-of-a-kind concept in Namibia. An additional 24 projects are in the pipeline with new locations to include Santa Teresa in Costa Rica and Baja California.
