Abu Dhabi: The Department of Community Development honoured the winners of the first edition of the Al Safwa Excellence Award, which was instituted to celebrate its employees. This gesture was part of DCD’s keenness to create a stimulating and encouraging environment for its employees where creativity and excellence is fostered. The awards were also in line with the wise leadership’s vision to develop government performance in Abu Dhabi.

The ceremony was held at Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development; His Excellency Engineer Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary at the Department of Community Development; members of the evaluation committees of the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police, and employees.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili expressed his delight at the results achieved by the Al Safwa Award, which were reflective of the government’s objectives.

He added that the Award’s first edition was the culmination of months of sincere efforts by the judging and performance evaluation teams from Abu Dhabi Police, which functioned with absolute impartiality and transparency, thus lending credibility to the Award’s results.

“When establishing DCD, our top priority was to create an environment that attracts competencies and stimulates creativity and excellence in order to reach our goal and achieve our vision towards a decent livelihood for all, and to make a positive impact on the life of the individual to achieve the community best quality of life,” added H.E. Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili.

His Excellency continued: “The launch of Al Safwa Award came from the Department's approach to motivate the capabilities, skills and institutional performance of our employees, leading to more inventiveness and development to fulfil our strategic goals for providing the best government services and increasing the satisfaction and happiness rates of community members.”

H.E. Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili presented awards to the Abu Dhabi Police external judging team and the evaluators, as well as to the employees who won the first three places in the "Supervisory Leadership" group, the "Technical" group, and the "Dedicated Long-Serving Employee" group.

About the Department of Community Development

The Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi (DCD) was established in 2018 to govern the social and community-development sector through a set of policies, strategies, systems, and standards. The Department aims to improve the quality of life in the emirate and provide a dignified life for all, through high-quality, impactful, and efficient services.
