New Releases of EdgeSight and EdgeSight for Load Testing Give Citrix Customers the Best Way to Monitor the Performance of Any Application

Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, today announced two new additions to its application performance monitoring product line that give organizations unprecedented monitoring and performance visibility into their application delivery infrastructures. Citrix EdgeSight™ 4.5 is the latest version of the company's application performance monitoring solution, and the all-new Citrix EdgeSight™ for Load Testing is a powerful load- and regression-testing solution that substantially increases IT's ability to deliver a stable and predictable application delivery environment. With these releases Citrix extends the management tool-set for businesses to deliver any type of application - including Windows®-based and web-based applications - with the best performance, security and cost savings to an increasingly distributed user community and across an increasingly complex range of application architectures.

Today's dynamic world presents some serious challenges to the continued productivity and profitability of any growing organization, such as diverse and distributed workforces, rapidly changing IT needs and increased application complexity with the rising popularity of web applications and mash-ups. These variables can make IT infrastructure performance extremely difficult to predict and to control, resulting in a serious need for accurate and granular visibility into the various pieces that make up an organization's IT environment.

"Businesses today are run on the ability of users to easily access applications and IT services from anywhere," said George Hamilton, director, enterprise infrastructure, Yankee Group.  "Citrix clearly understands that performance management needs to be tightly integrated with the application delivery infrastructure to provide IT organizations with the tools they need to optimize their systems, reduce costs and provide a better service experience to their user communities."

Citrix EdgeSight and Citrix EdgeSight for Load Testing provide visibility before, during and after applications are integrated into an IT environment. The combination of the EdgeSight solution's real-time performance monitoring with the new simulated performance modeling capabilities of EdgeSight for Load Testing provide IT administrators with a comprehensive set of tools for identifying, prioritizing and addressing application performance problems to ensure peak operation of any application while delivering the best possible experience to end users. Together, Citrix EdgeSight and Citrix EdgeSight for Load Testing offer the best application performance management solution for Citrix application delivery infrastructures including Citrix Presentation Server™, Citrix® NetScaler® and Citrix Desktop Server™ environments.

"As the largest partnership bank in America, ensuring optimal user experience is a critical focus for our IT operations team," said Rick Berk, CIO and partner, Brown Brothers Harriman. "Citrix EdgeSight provides the application visibility we require to identify potential performance issues quickly, understand the context of the problem, and efficiently correct it before our users experience degradation in service."

"IT organizations are judged based on their ability to deliver and ensure a reliable user experience regardless of application or user location," said Lou Shipley, vice president and general manager, Management Systems Group, Citrix Systems. "With these new enhancements and solution sets, the Citrix EdgeSight product line allows companies to both ensure their application delivery systems are architected to deliver superior performance, and to continue to monitor and improve that performance over time at a lower support cost and with optimal control."

"With rapid economic growth, the Middle East is also facing the typical challenges of a dynamic budding environment, such as growing IT needs, an infrastructure struggling to keep up, multiple application and network environments with ever increasing numbers of personnel and offices. Never more has there been the need for accurate tools to proactively monitor, measure and review the actual end-user Quality of Service. The Citrix Edgesight product line provides administrators with the visibility of the user experience to proactively address issues," added Antoine Aguado, Regional Manager, Citrix Middle East.

Advanced Testing Capabilities with Citrix EdgeSight for Load Testing Ensure a Reliable Application Delivery Infrastructure

Citrix EdgeSight for Load Testing is the only load- and regression-testing solution designed from the ground up for Citrix Presentation Server and Citrix Desktop Server environments.  This new addition to the Citrix EdgeSight product line allows organizations to easily complete performance testing for new environments and rapidly execute regression testing for updates to Windows-based applications and operating systems. This gives IT administrators important visibility into an environment's performance under load, and helps them to accurately predict how new applications and hardware will perform in a given configuration before they move them into production.

Citrix EdgeSight for Load Testing reproduces user interactions with applications, allowing Citrix administrators to simulate load across any combination of applications and geographic locations. This insight into capacity and resource requirements can be used to optimize the existing environment and prevent system instability from ongoing application maintenance and hardware upgrades.

Driven by considerable market demand, the addition of EdgeSight for Load Testing to Citrix's performance monitoring and management portfolio demonstrates the emphasis placed on ensuring Citrix customers have the tools they require to design and manage Citrix application delivery infrastructure solutions.
