Amman: Complementing the efforts of the Government of Jordan to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Central Electricity Generating Company (CEGCO) Board of Directors has approved a JOD 200,000 donation. The donation is divided as follows: JOD 180,000 for the ‘Himmat Watan’ fund and JOD 20,000 for the aid of underprivileged families residing in the areas surrounding CEGCO’s power plants - to be allocated in coordination with concerned entities.
“This contribution is closely aligned with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the strategy of the Government of Jordan towards mitigating the socioeconomic impact of the coronavirus outbreak, which is affecting not only our beloved Jordan, but also the world at large. This step emphasizes our sense of national and social responsibility and reaffirms the steadfast commitment of CEGCO’s Board of Directors to continuing to collaborate with individuals and institutions alike to support nationwide efforts against the spread of COVID-19 and enable local community members to overcome this crisis as quickly as possible. May God protect our country, its leadership and its citizens from harm,” stated CEGCO CEO, Dr. Moayad Samman.
