Abu Dhabi-UAE: 18 March, 2013 - The Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi successfully supported the fifth annual 'Al Hilal Auto Festival' raising awareness on the importance of environment conservation and highlighting best practices such as recycling and the effective disposal of waste, particularly carton and plastic.
The auto festival ran from 14 - 17 March at the Abu Dhabi Corniche, attracting more than 40,000 visitors. The event that closed a record number of automobile financing deals showcased a car show featuring over 280 vehicles, as well as luxury yachts and motor cycles. A range of entertainment and sport activities were also organized for the benefit of fest attendees.
As part of its presence at the Al Hilal Auto Festival, the Center of Waste Management hosted a dedicated stand to educate visitors on its range of services and initiatives. Staff members from the center also distributed brochures highlighting best practices in waste management.
Engineer Hani Hosni, Head of EHS Sector at the Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi, said: "We are keen to participate in social events that allow us to engage with the community to promote sustainable waste management and reduce the environmental impact of our modern-day lifestyle activities.
