In an unprecedented upsurge taken by Bel Egypt, the owner of the brands La Vache Qui Rit®, Kiri, Abu El Walad, and Mini Baby Bel, launched a medical insurance service program. In fact, this program targets extraordinary retailers, who deals with the company and are believed to be Bel’s partners in success, along with their families. This prestigious program comes under the name of "Inaya". To further explicate, Bel is deemed to be the first company in the food and beverage sector to launch such a pioneering program that takes care of the health of its retailers, who contributed to the company's success and upgrading its brands.
Additionally, this program comes within the framework of Bel Group’s global strategy, and the company’s responsibility towards the societies in which it operates. Not to mention, amid the challenges, which the world has been facing since the spread of the pandemic, an increase in the indispensability of healthcare is called for in order to ensure business continuity, hence achieve the looked-for economic growth.
Indeed, Bel Egypt is joining hands with Med Right, the pioneer in providing insurance services to more than 300 companies in 30 different sectors, to implement Bel Egypt’s health insurance program, “Inaya”. This system will be conducted with investments amounting to EGP 44 million, during the pilot phase, to include about 20% of the extraordinary retailers dealing with the company in the various governorates of Egypt.
The program also provides various services to the retails, mentioned beforehand, offering them several advantages. Meaning, these advantages encompasses their deals with different hospitals, pharmacies, and health centers. Also, retails get to partake in this program through the point-of-sale (POS) system that is collected by achieving their sales’ goals. The POS system stimulates the retailers’ participation, as well as provides an important and unprecedented service to them and their families.
Regarding this matter, Hany Aram, Head of the sales sector at Bel Egypt and Northeast Africa, stated: “Bel Egypt is a global company, which holds an inveterate history of more than 150 years. Our company has been operating in Egypt for more than 23 years, and it owns a state-of-the-art factory that serves as an export center for more than 14 countries. This actually contributes to the localization of food industries in Egypt. Also, our investments in the Egyptian market amount up to EGP 400 million. Indeed, Bel Egypt believes in being a responsible investor, so it is relentlessly working to deepen its presence through positive contributions to the advancement of the Egyptian society, in addition to the implementation of the Egypt’s 2030 vision pertinent to the sustainable development.”
He also added: "This pioneering program offers a unique experience, which is the introduction of our retailers to an insurance system, in line with Egypt’s approach of carrying out a comprehensive insurance system. Another thing that should be taken into account is the current circumstances imposed by the global pandemic, which require prioritizing healthcare, as well as proffering insurance coverage. Finally, these retailers will be trained on how to duly utilize this system, in order to support the digital transformation plan that the country is currently seeking to adopt."
Hani Aram explained that the extended cooperation between Bel and Med Right to implement the "Inaya" health insurance system in transactions with health centers, hospitals and pharmacies has enabled Bel to develop this new insurance system, which is the first of its kind to suit the requirements of merchants Also, the existence of the application contributes to creating a direct link between merchants and insurance companies, which makes it more effective for them and enhances the success of this pioneering experience.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Refaat, Chairman of Med Right, and Dr. Mary Michael, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors praised in cooperation with Bell and Associated Insurance Consultants in developing an insurance program system that suits the needs of retailers dealing with the company, and said. "To date, the contract has been made with Approximately 4,024 medical facilities represented in 1,373 pharmacies, 284 hospitals, 1582 health centers and 785 doctors to ensure the provision of excellent health services to merchants and their families. We are proud of this cooperation, which is the first of its kind in Egypt, which we hope that the rest of the private sector companies will take such a step to popularize the experience as health is a crown on the heads of the Egyptians. "
Last but not least, during the first wave of Coronavirus, Bel Egypt carried out many social responsibility activities, as the company was keen to participate in several community initiatives allocating EGP 4 million to underpin the health sector. Moreover, the support was extended to cover a partnership with the Egyptian Food Bank throughout its campaign, “Supporting Day labor is a responsibility". Bel took part in this campaign by donating part of La Vache Qui Rit’s sales during the holy month of Ramadan. Furthermore, Bel cooperated with the Egyptian Cure Bank in a campaign that secures ventilators to the isolation hospitals. Also, the company had an honorable participation in the private sector coalition, together with the American Chamber of Commerce and UNICEF, to reinforce the White Army by providing the isolation hospitals with medical supplies. Finally, Bel supported “Resala” and the Egyptian Food Bank, in the implementation of "Challenge of Goodness" initiative that revolved around aiding thousands of families impacted by the Coronavirus crisis.
