AVEVA, the leading global engineering IT software and services group, has introduced VANTAGE Plant Design Review 6.2, a breakthrough technology in the field of 3D visualisation and plant model review, for the Middle East market. Review 6.2 represents major advancements in navigation, information retrieval and overall virtual reality experience.

AVEVA has developed the VANTAGE Plant Design Review 6.2 to deliver the most comprehensive engineering functionality as well as the most useful, easily adopted navigation techniques. The new solution caters to the needs of engineers working in plant and marine engineering industries and will help them obtain effective visual feedback from a portrayal of the plant at various stages of the project. Using Microsoft's .NET technology and the latest Windows look and feel, VANTAGE Plant Design Review 6.2 anticipates the needs of the reviewing engineer and offers any required information, commands or manipulations upon a mouseclick..

Louay Dahmash, Regional Director, Middle East, AVEVA, said: "The Middle East has a large number of plant and marine engineering industries. As most applications available so far were designed for IT-savvy engineers, there was an acute need for a solution that could deliver the right level of reliable, physical and technical information to everyone. Review 6.2 is a great leap forward in interactive visualisation, allowing engineers to experience easy, real-time navigation and manipulation of the plant."

A core strength of Review 6.2 is that it brings information from many third-party sources on the desktop, along with fast, detailed measurement, transparency and view controls. It enables the user to move objects around the plant, generating immediate feedback of the consequences, allowing 'what if' scenarios and construction sequences to be examined.

With Review 6.2, AVEVA offers efficient solution to link the project teams based in multiple locations to improve their interaction using the 3D model. Review users can share and review project data through the data browser to display either on desktop machines or in project team rooms. With active Stereo support, Review 6.2 can also provide that extra visual feedback necessary for active decision-making.

"The product helps in carrying out regular project reviews, enabling early identification of issues that cause serious project delays and lead to large, unbudgeted costs. AVEVA anticipates the adoption of Review 6.2 would bring about significant improvements to project teams on engineering projects in the Middle East," added Dahmash.
