MOU will strengthen cooperation in provision of education and training services.

Washington, DC, September 30, 2015

AMIDEAST, a leading provider of educational and training services in the Middle East, and Global Dimension for Education and Training (GDET), a member of the Almojel Group of  Companies, have concluded a long-term Memorandum of Understanding to jointly provide comprehensive services in the fields of scholarship management and administration, academic preparation, training, testing, and professional and workforce development capacity building services to public and private sector clients throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The memorandum will strengthen cooperation between the two countries and mutual investments in the private sector. It was signed on September 4 during the U.S. Investment Forum, which was held in Washington, DC, in conjunction with the visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to the United States. The forum was hosted by the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority, the Council of Saudi Chambers, and the U.S.-Saudi Business Council.

"AMIDEAST welcomes this expansion of our partnership with GDET," said AMIDEAST President and CEO Theodore H. Kattouf.  "It will enable us to significantly expand our educational and training services in the Kingdom in support of the country's educational and workforce development goals."

Dr. Abdullah I. Almojel, president and managing director of GDET,  emphasized the importance of cooperation between AMIDEAST and GDET:  "A specific training program is fundamental to helping students achieve their goals. This constitutes a basic step to providing them with the strong foundation they need to carry out their education plan, to build self-confidence, and to improve their skills. By working very closely  with our partner AMIDEAST, we will provide the support these scholarship students need to develop their skills and overcome any difficulties they may face during their education journey."

AMIDEAST, which is headquartered in Washington, DC, opened an office in Riyadh in 2010, one of a network of more than 20 offices in 12 countries that the private, nonprofit organization operates across the Middle East and North Africa. In addition to providing testing and professional training services in the Kingdom, AMIDEAST established and a training program at the Juaymah Training Center of Saudi Electric Services Polytechnic (SESP) and continues to manage it under a five-year agreement signed in September 2013.
