Company plans major operations expansion in the region
DUBAI - United Arab Emirates: ALUMCO LLC, a specialized aluminium faade contractor and UAE's largest manufacturer, has won a landmark contract to supply a total of 64,000 square meters, worth AED 42 million, of its high quality aluminum facades to the prestigious 44-storied Sky Gardens project at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). As per the deal entered into with the contractor Arabtec, and the Kuwaiti owners of the project First Dubai Real Estate Development Co., Alumco will supply 33,000 square meter architectural fins that extend out of the building, 28,000 square meter unitized curtain wall and 3,000 square meter doors and windows for the Sky Gardens, a uniquely designed expansive glass faade which will seemingly float from scimitar stone supports.

The work on the project which commenced in May 2006 is expected to be completed by June 2007.This project will be cladded with unitized aluminum panels 1.5 m wide by 3.4 m high including a horizontal louvered fin (850mm deep) fixed on each panel to form a continuous horizontal sun breaker all around the buildings glazed area on each floor.
The company's high quality unitized system has been used in other impressive projects like Citadel Tower in Business Bay, Liwa Height and Fortune Tower in Jumeirah Lake Towers and Emirates Crown in Dubai Marina. Alumco's current portfolio includes six major projects in various locations in Dubai. The company has also completed major projects including six towers at Burj Dubai Development, Burj Residence precinct, Dubai Police Headquarters, Al Murroj Complex on Sheikh Zayed Road and Shatha Tower in Dubai Media City. The company is also planning major expansion to its present production capacity of aluminum line. This is an integral aspect of Alumco's strategy to establish itself as one of the leading players in the manufacturing and installation of cladding and curtain walls on high-rise towers.
