Dubai, April 17, 2012: Al-Futtaim Logistics, the market leading Logistics solutions provider, today announced it has received the ISO 9001:2008 certification issued by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) - an independent foundation established in 1864 with the purpose of safeguarding life, property, and the environment.
ISO 9001 is an internationally recognized quality management standard which specifies Quality Management System requirements focused on an organization's ability to meet and improve upon customer satisfaction and quality requirements.
The certificate was handed over to Tom Nauwelaerts, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Logistics by Sherif Mekkawy, Key Customers & Business Development Manager from DNV at the Al Badia Golf Club in Dubai, where a celebration was held for this occasion.
The award is part of an ongoing process by Al-Futtaim Logistics to enhance its services across different areas of its business.
The Al-Futtaim Logistics company was awarded the certificate for meeting quality management standards in providing Sea and Air Freight services, General Transport Services (distribution including International road transport services, staff transport, movement and relocations), Contract Logistics and Automotive Logistics (Warehousing and Distribution of vehicles).

To receive the certification, Al-Futtaim Logistics underwent a major transformation that included the development of a Quality Management System which was implemented by ensuring continuous improvement based on feedback and suggestions from employees and customers.
Al-Futtaim Logistics has previously won the Best Importer at the MELA (Middle East Logistics Award in 2008 and 3PL Service Provider of the Year award at the SCATA (Supply Chain and Transport Awards) awards in 2010.
