Ajman: Huawei, a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, has partnered with Ajman University (AU) to deliver training and certification programs to the university’s students via the Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy program (HAINA). The step aims at further building the ICT capacity and expertise in Ajman, and the UAE as a whole, by upskilling local talent.

This promising partnership follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Karim Seghir, Ph.D., Chancellor of Ajman University, and Liu Jiawei, CEO of Huawei UAE, where both parties agreed to work together collaboratively to provide the students with the required ICT skills through the HAINA initiative that will enable them to become the future ICT leaders in their country.

Ajman University will provide classroom and other teaching facilities to accommodate Huawei ICT equipment for the program, and will also embed the HAINA certification courses in its curriculum, and liaise with the local networking industry to deliver the training programs across a wider outreach of population in the ICT industry across the UAE. Additionally, Huawei will provide Huawei Certification Academy Instructor (HCAI) training for the university’s professional instructors for each course direction.

Karim Seghir, Ph.D., Chancellor of Ajman University, said: “Ajman University is committed to offering students the most relevant and high quality educational experience and equipping them with the technical skills, credentials and character that enable them to embark upon fulfilling careers while contributing to the economic growth and development of the society.”

"Collaborating with Huawei in this initiative will allow us to offer professional-level certifications that will not only enhance the talent pool in the Emirate of Ajman, but also build exceptional ICT specialists capable of realizing the UAE’s digital ambitions”, he added.

Liu Jiawei, CEO of Huawei UAE, said: “Huawei, is committed for many years now to building the local talents, the future ICT leaders of the UAE, and contribute towards the development of the emirates’ ICT ecosystem.”

He added: "Huawei is very pleased to partner with Ajman University to grow the ICT talent pool in the emirate. Investing in talent development and encouraging a new generation of ICT experts will enable the UAE to realize its ambitions of becoming a digitalized country empowered by connectivity and with a vibrant digital economy".

Ajman University and Huawei will work cooperatively to monitor the HAINA program and offer suggestions for continuous improvement.
