Ajman - Ajman Tourism Development Department organized a workshop, in cooperation with AbsherInitiative;a multi-tasked program to help Emiratis find jobs in the private sector, on the importance of involving UAE cadres in the tourism sector in Ajman.
The workshop, presented by Ahmed Al Khouri, a senior official at Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council, was attended by ATDD General Manager Faisal Al Nuaimi, senior ATDD officials and general managers and human resources managers at a number of hotel establishments in Ajman.
During the workshop, the ATDD general manager said that upon directives from HH Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, the ATDD shall work on attracting UAE nationals to work in the hospitality sector in the emirate.
To this end, a working plan was developed, in coordination with hospitality sector representatives to probe ways to implement a localization program of the sector.
This trend goes in line with Ajman Vision 2021 and ATDD strategic goals that included increasing the number of UAE cadres in the tourism sector in Ajman, the ATDD general manager said.
The workshop idea was developed following contacts with hotel managers in Ajman, being partners to ATDD in tourism developments efforts in the emirate, Al Nuaimi added.
ATDD is working on a detailed memorandum of understanding, to be signed with the Presidential Affairs Ministry and Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council, he noted.
The Absher initiative was launched to enhance the participation of UAE citizens in the labour market, in line with the directives of HHSheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. It provides the foundation to employ UAE citizensin accordance with UAE Vision 2021.
