The new packs of adol reflect its medicinal power as a strong pain reliever
Ras Al Khaimah, June 17, 2010: Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar), one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in the UAE, announced the launch of new packs for its adol chain of pain killing medicines under the slogan "The Relieving Power". The introduction of adol in the markets with its new design of packs would help enhance Julphar's competitive edge and attractiveness to customers in line with the company's high quality standards.
Dr. Ayman Sahli, General Manager of Julphar, said that adol, the pain relieving medicine that was first produced by the company in 1985, will be found on pharmacies shelves in attractive packs that reflect the medicine's increasing power of relieving pains and reducing fevers for adults and children alike.
"We decided to introduce adol in attractive new package design aiming to enhance public awareness about its strength in killing pain and eliminating discomfort, especially after we succeeded in increasing the sales of adol by 27% in the first quarter of 2010, compared with the same period of 2009. Moreover, adol has also reported a total of 40% rise in sales during 2009, compared to 2008," Dr. Sahli told reporters and media representatives in a press conference that took place yesterday at Julphar's premises in Ras Al Khaimah.
Julphar's General Manager pointed out that adol secures a global credibility as it is registered and selling in 28 countries over 4 continents, in addition to meeting all requirements of Ministries of Health in these countries. Other aspects of adol's strength is that the medicine has a quality-assured source of raw material (paracetamol) that the company imports from its main manufacturer, Covidien's Raleigh Pharmaceutical Plant in North Carolina, USA.
"adol is therapeutically bio-equivalent to the originator. adol also enjoyed more than 10% market share from the total markets of paracetamol drugs in the UAE and KSA. As one of our national proud production, adol is manufactured in a fully-computerized plant of Julphar's that comply with international standards of Finished Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and cGMP," Dr. Sahli added.
adol, with paracetamol as a main component, effectively and fastly relieves pain by elevating the pain threshold centrally, and by blocking pain-impulse generation through a peripheral action. Doctors usually prescribe adol for patients suffering from common cold, headache and migraine, muscle aches, sprains, backaches, toothaches, Arthritis pain, dysmenorrhea, rheumatic aches and for discomfort that accompanies cold, flu and sore throat.
adol comes in different forms as smooth pillow-shaped caplets that make it easier to swallow, suspensions, syrups and drops for children and infants, in addition to suppositories. The different forms of adol which come with new attractive and colorful packs include adol Cold, adol Caplets, adol Sinus, adol PM, adol Compound, adol Extra and adol Allergy Sinus.
