Nominations for the Middle East Accountancy and Finance Excellence Awards are closing on 5 October, and finance professionals are being encouraged to get their entries in before the deadline. Open to individuals in finance, business leaders and organisations the awards will be judged by a panel of leading financial figures, including CEOs of SHUUA Capital and Al Fahim group, the CFOs of Emirates NDB and the Gulf International Bank and experts from Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADAA) and UKTI.
The ceremony, organised by ICAEW with support from Emirates NDB, is taking place on 14 December at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel. Radio presenter Richard Dean of Dubai Eye 103.8FM will be Master of Ceremonies and sporting legend Sir Ian Botham OBE will provide the after-dinner speech.
Surya Subramanian, Group Chief Financial Officer at Emirates NBD and one of the 16-strong judging panel, said: "This is an opportunity for finance professionals across the region to have their achievements recognised by leaders in the accountancy and finance world. The ten categories cover a range of areas and achievements and anyone who is nominated is clearly making their mark. We are looking forward to the opportunity to showcase the best that Middle Eastern finance has to offer."
