Egypt to receive 240,000 tonnes of Russian wheat next April

Cairo – Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) will purchase 240,000 tonnes of Russian wheat, the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade announced on Thursday.

The wheat amount, which is expected to arrive in Egypt next April, is funded by the World Bank.

In November 2022, GASC put 10,000 tonnes of imported Russian wheat for sale at private sector mills through the Egyptian Mercantile Exchange (EMX) at a price of EGP 9,75 per tonne.
