Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post) has signed a key licence agreement with FIFA, the international governing body of football.

Under this deal, Qatar Post will issue a programme of eleven stamp issues during 2021 to 2022, starting with the launch of the first stamp featuring the official emblem of the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 today (April 1).

The stamps are designed to celebrate each stage of the preparation leading up to the FIFA World Cup in 2022, in addition to recognising the rich history of football in Qatar.

The issues will also include VIP folders, first day covers as well as commemorative stamp sets, bringing to life Qatar Posts innovative designs using state-of-the-art augmented reality technology for the enjoyment of customers, said the statement.

Qatar Post said along with FIFA it was proud that the first official stamp issue will also be the first FIFA World Cup 2022 Official Licensed Product to reach costumers in Qatar.

The stamp issues will document Qatars rich heritage in hosting major football events, the history of football in Qatar, the history of the FIFA World Cup 2022 stadiums, and moving on to highlight a string of official FIFA milestones including the opening and closing ceremonies, said a senior officials.

The FIFA World Cup stamp issues programme is an opportunity for Qatar Post, as the national postal service provider, to showcase the country as the host nation as well as Qatars history and culture as a sporting nation, they stated.

Currently, Qatar Post is also in the process of collaborating with other FIFA licensees to bring new and exciting high-quality products for the benefit of customers in Qatar and across the world, they added.-TradeArabia News Service
