On Wednesday, CBSE had announced that students would have to reappear for the class X maths (code 041) and class XII economics (code 030) papers, following reports of the question papers leaking in India.
In a change of decision, the board however announced on Friday, that all class XII students ‘except those in CBSE schools located abroad’ will have to appear for the economics paper on April 25. “The candidates will appear at the same allotted centres using the same admit card.”
Regarding the class X mathematics examination, the board said that the paper leak was restricted to Delhi NCR [National Capital Region] and Haryana only, thus a retest would not be considered for any other state other than Delhi NCR and Haryana’.
CBSE also stated that a detailed inquiry is currently under way and based on its findings, a retest could be conducted in July if necessary. The board has already referred the matter to Delhi Police for detailed investigation.
