With an aim to support innovation, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation is getting ready to set up a unified digital platform.

The platform for databases will be established within the framework of the national innovation system, the ministry said.

‘It aims to overcome challenges faced by the innovation sector, provide quick and smart services for innovative activities in all governorates of the sultanate, and accelerate the transformation of innovative ideas into economic and social value that can enter the market.’

The ministry said it will also launch an initiative to establish a national platform to take care of all innovative activities in an integrated manner. The platform aims to provide quick and smart services to the beneficiaries – students, innovators and jobseekers.

The ministry will announce the National Research Award on December 15 during the annual meeting of researchers.

The award aims to encourage researchers to conduct high quality and relevant research in areas of national interest.

The ministry also announced the opening of the door for Omani researchers to participate in the 71st Lindau Nobel Laureate meeting. The next session in the field of chemistry will be held from June 26 to July 1, 2022 in Lindau, Germany.
