Exasperated Whatsapp users across the world are posting their ire on Twitter after they were hit by a bug that stops them from seeing the names of senders in their message notifications.

The bug causes users to get a notification that says 'Whatsapp' instead of the sender's name.

iPhone users are mostly reeling under the problem, which has cropped up following a Whatsapp update done recently.

But don't lose your sleep over it, for there's a simple remedy.

Follow these steps for the solution:

- Go to Whatsapp Settings inside the app and click on Notifications.

- Turn it to 'Show Preview', and then go into your iPhone's settings menu.

- In the Notifications menu, select Whatsapp, click 'Show Previews' and switch it to 'Never'.

However, it will also remove any preview text in your Whatsapp notifications.

Rest of the users can eliminate the bug by updating to the latest version of WhatsApp.
