Two landmarks buildings in the UAE yesterday lit up in honour of the country administering over 100,000 vaccines in a single day.

On Tuesday, UAE health authorities reported that 108,401 residents had been administered a Covid-19 vaccine in 24 hours.

To honour the efforts of all involved, Dubai's iconic Burj Khalifa and Abu Dhabi's unmissable ADNOC building both lit up with a message of gratitude to the country's Rulers as well as the frontliners driving the fight to flatten the curve.

"Today, 108,401 people in the UAE received a Covid-19 vaccine, helping to contain and eliminate Covid-19," read the message. "Thanks to our leadership and healthcare workers for protecting our nation. Join the fight against Covid-19. Choose to vaccinate."

The Rulers of both emirates took to Twitter yesterday to urge UAE residents to take the vaccine "quickly".

The call is in line with the country's efforts to vaccinate 50 per cent of the population by the end of March.
